"RuLei" PE Gas Pipe Series:
In the mid-20th century, the polyethylene (PE) pipes came to be in utilization for gas distribution industry. Plenty of tests and engineering practices have shown that the PE pipes are most ideal in gas distribution. The safety and reliabilities of PE pipes are more superior than those of steel or cast, and their wide usages result from their long term superior performance to a variety of service conditions such as: earthquake, abrasion, temperature and soil shifts, bending etc. The PE gas pipes exhibit their excellent properties by the following:
1) Long Service Life--secure for at least 50 years under rated temperature and pressure.
2) Corrosion Resistance--polyethylene is chemically inert and it can resist many chemical matters found in the soil. It is suitable for almost all of the soil conditions just with little on-going maintenance.
3) High Flexibility and Great Resistance to Impact-- PE pipe is flexible and tough. They can be bent and coiled. It exhibits outstanding toughness, which enables it to withstand the stresses from impacts, floods, quakes and soil movements. The layout of the pipeline system can be snake-like and the pipes can be curved to avoid obstacles.
4) High Security--PE gas pipes have a very good tightness in gas sealing and their connections are seamless, which prevent them from a gas leakage and permeability.
5) Aging Resistance--PE gas pipes are ultraviolet-against yellow or black colors, and which improves their aging properties.
6) Quick Installation--PE gas pipe is light-weighted and less expensive for transport, handle, install and maintain. The pipeline systems are connected by thermal fusion, lector fusion, steel-plastic transition and flange jointing. The working equipment for the installation is small in size, light in weight and labor-efficiency. It decidedly suitable for working sites in the wild field for its easiness and convenience.
7) Cost Effectiveness--Compared with traditional steel pipe, PE gas pipe is laborsaving and its equipment investment is relatively smaller. It reduces the cost for on-going maintenance and its service life is longer. For all of these reasons, it is estimated that its cost is only one third of that of steel pipe.
With the development of several decades, PE gas pipe has already been improved to perfection in manufacturing, installation, handling and utilization. It has been promoted widely in western developed countries. The USA is the biggest manufacturing nation in the world for plastic pipes, and the PE gas pipes account for 95% of its gas piping system, while in Europe, Japan and South Korea, PE gas pipes also account for up to 80%-90% of their own piping systems. On 4 th , July, 2001, in its announcement about chemical building material technologies and products, the National Construction Department of China declared that PE gas pipe was a best-choice. With the promotion from the state authorities, China's plastic pipe industry is booming in research, manufacturing and application, and by the advantages of China's relatively lower cost index, the exportation of these products increasing greatly in recent years.

The prime material is P600BL from Korea Petrochemical Ind. Co., Ltd. (KPIC) for Rulei brand underground PE gas pipes and the related fittings. The fittings are processed with extrusion, vacuum casting and cooling while the pipes with fusion join or heat plasticizing die extrusion, cool shaping and so on.
